Morris’s Winston doesn’t quite have the caché of Nick’s many relationship issues, or Schmidt’s insecure metrosexuality. The story about him replacing Damon Wayans (be still, our beating hearts) still, a whole season and a half in, seems to eclipse any press about Morris himself. Morris got kind of a raw deal by coming on the show “late” (as in one episode after everyone else).

He has yet to be badgered by Chelsea Handler, gently ribbed by Jimmies Fallon and Kimmel. The most we can tell about Lamorne Morris is that he once hosted a television show on Cartoon Network called Brain Rush. Google Jake Johnson or Max Greenfield, and there are pages and pages of Tumblelogs and interviews and prospective future roles. But what of Lamorne Morris as Winston Bishop? And Zooey Deschanel’s star continues to burn as brightly as her shiny, shiny hair. Season Two seems to be the season of crotchety, angry Nick Miller. Season One’s breakout star was Max Greenfield as the absurdist, loafer-wearing, “chut-a-ney”- loving Schmidt. It’s gotten so good that, for last week’s Thanksgiving episode, Rob Reiner and Jamie Lee Curtis were the guest stars. However, he was able to lose all his weight and become very muscular, which explains why he's so egotistical and prideful in his appearance. In the past two seasons, New Girl has evolved from adorkable comedy starring a woman-child with issues saying the word “penis,” to a smart, hilarious ensemble comedy, with fully developed, interesting characters.

  • Schmidt used to be extremely fat and ugly back in high school and got bullied for it a lot.
  • In " Secrets", Schmidt gives Nick some dating advice.
  • Schmidt tells Jess that if she really wants to be happy, she should stop going after that asshole and instead go after someone who actually cares about her. The date goes horribly despite Schmidt's assistance because Cliff is just as selfish and rude to her as her ex.
  • In " Valentine's Day", Schmidt worked as Jess' wingman, when she tried to tie the knot in a relationship with a complete stranger named Cliff, who she had nothing in common with.
  • In " Bells", Schmidt fixes the broken toilet.
  • In " Thanksgiving", Schmidt saves the Thanksgiving turkey from getting burned in the oven.
  • Schmidt forgives her and continues to care for her. Cece later realizes how rude she was being to someone who helped her and apologizes. Cece takes advantage of his kindness and tricks him into getting locked on the roof.
  • In " Cece Crashes", Schmidt allows Cece Parekh to stay with him in his room, after she was got dumped/kicked out of her house by her ex-boyfriend.
  • As self-absorbed as Schmidt is, he is also a genuinely caring guy for others, helping out his friends such as Jess and CeCe, when they're in times of distress and is all around a good friend.

Schmidt is very annoying, as he not only has an unhealthy concern for his appearance but is also constantly bragging about his few and laughable excuses for accomplishments in life to his roommates, much to their annoyance. Over the series, this jar overflows with money. His roommates all agree he's a douche and every time he does something douchey, he's forced to put a dollar in the douche jar. Schmidt is a narcissistic, self-proclaimed "alpha male", who sees himself as being greater than he really is. He works for the mostly-female marketing firm, Associated Strategies. He is an extremely attractive, yet douchey guy, who lives in Apartment 4D with Jess Day, Nick Miller, and Winston Bishop and enjoys decorating, cooking, clubbing, and partying. Winston Saint-Marie Schmidt (known as Schmidt) is one of the main characters of the FOX sitcom, New Girl.
